Gavin™, a digitally minded public relations and marketing agency, is proud to announce it has achieved national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council PA-DE-sNJ, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

With headquarters in downtown York, Pennsylvania, and an office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Gavin has grown considerably since its 2011 launch, from a one-woman shop to an agency of 20+ employees.

“We are excited to be officially certified as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise. As Gavin continues to plan for strategic growth, we are working to expand into new markets and industries and the WBENC certification provides us more opportunities,” said Mandy Arnold, CEO of Gavin.

WBENC’s national standard of certification, implemented by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council PA-DE-sNJ, is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. It is the most rigorous and sought after certification of its kind.

By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs. In fact, local, state and federal laws require government offices and agencies to award a certain percentage of their purchasing contracts to women-owned businesses. Beyond requirements, businesses are broadly seeking to diversify their supplier base. (Check out this overview from Entrepreneur.)

The Gavin team works broadly with nonprofit organizations, government entities and major corporations, and expects a positive impact from its WBENC certification.
